In this gathering, Alvaro Lopez will discuss the role of horror and the monster as a genre and a figure with deep sociocultural implications across history and cultures. Alvaro will focus on horror media and the way that the genre has changed, to reflect on spooky questions such as: What is horror? How does it relate to “the monster”? How have they changed? And what role do they play in society?
