Committees

Committees are groups of members who organize activities or assist SIB-Utrecht in a different way. Some committees run throughout the year, others are specially designed for a project. SIB also has management and AGM committees. Joining a committee is the ideal way to get to know your fellow SIB members more and to really contribute to the association. Of course, you also gain a lot of organizational experience that you can use later in life. If you are interested in joining a certain committee, you can always let us know!

Standing Committees
Activities Committee
Activities committee
The Activities committee (AcCo) organizes various fun activities throughout the year for all members of SIB. Every month there is something planned! Think of a bowling, a Sinterklaas evening, beer dropping, night canoeing and an open-mic night. But also for organizing a great party, you need to be at the AcCo.
ICT Committee
IT Committee
The IT committee keeps this website as up-to-date as possible. It also assists the entire board with a variety of IT support, in front of and behind the scenes. If any other committee requires a website, the IT committee is there for them too.
ESC Commissie
Project Committees
MEME Committee
MEME Committee
Every year, the Massively Exiting Mid-year Excursion (MEME) organises a week-long trip in spring. This sustainable and affordable trip is to an interesting destination, where a variety of content-related and fun activities are organized. Of course, there will also be plenty of free time.
FIT Committee
FIT Committee
The Fall Introduction Trip Committee (FIT Committee) organizes a weekend trip in November to a destination that is close by, but is located abroad. In recent years the destination of the trip has been Texel, Ghent and Lille. The FIT is also one of our introduction moments, where new members are introduced to SIB in a relaxed way.
LIT Committee
LIT Committee (LIT in 2023)
The Late-year Introduction Trip Committee organizes a weekend in March to a destination inside or just outside of the Netherlands. During this weekend several activities take place, and of course the destination is explored. Destinations of the past years have been: Bruges, Antwerp and Cologne. This weekend is also an introduction weekend, and is a nice opportunity is to get to know new and old members (better).
Simulation Committee
The Simulation Committee organises the one and only Utrecht Crisis Model United Nations (UCMUN). In this crisis simulation, historical and fantasy situations are given, from which players define their own destiny! Through diplomacy, strategy, tactics and (at times) a bit of betrayal, characters of different cabinets challenge each other to become the best of all cabinets.
Symposium 2023
Symposium Committee
Every year SIB-Utrecht organises a symposium on an international or societal relevant subject. The Symposium Committee arranges a varied and interesting programme with well known as well as less known experts. They make sure the day is filled with workshops, masterclasses, talks and debates.
