Where will our food come from in the future? And how do astronauts actually get their food? The planet of Mars and the moon have many possibilities! Wieger Wamelink, researcher Mars- and Lunar soil, tries to find out if Mars and the moon are actually suited places to cultivate food for humans. If the first humans will go to Mars somewhere in the future, they will be able to consume fresh vegetables instead of bringing all their food with them from earth. This would not only be easier, but also tastier and healthier. What are the possibilities and difficulties with respect to cultivating plants on Mars- and Lunar soil? Will it be possible for humans to live on Mars and the moon because of space agriculture? And where does the Mars- and Moon soil that is being used during the research actually come from? During the talk Wieger Wamelink will answer all our questions with respect to space agriculture and the future of humans on Mars and the moon.
