Committees

Committees at SIB-Utrecht are the heart of our activities, bringing members together to organize events and support the association in various ways. Joining a committee is a fantastic way to connect with fellow members, contribute meaningfully to the association, and develop valuable organizational skills for the future!

Acquisition Committee (AC)

This committee supports the Commissioner of Acquisition, or the responsible Board member, by writing to funds that will be used to finance the lecture program and various activities. Maintaining general contact with the funds is another important task of this committee.

Activities Committee (AcCo)

The AcCo organizes various fun activities throughout the year, such as a beer tasting, games evening, and open stage. As a member of the AcCo you can organize social activities to your liking. All activities are small projects, so if you enjoy short term projects and a fun committee, the AcCo is for you!

Audit Committee (KasCo)

The Auditing Committee monitors and supports the treasurer with diverse financial matters and difficult issues. They ensure that SIB’s finances are handled with care and see to it that the bookkeeping is done correctly.

Board of Advisers (RvA)

The Board of Advisors assists the board and gives requested and unrequested advice. It consists of a few senior members of SIB who have acquired various experiences within the association. As they answer to the GMA, members can always contact them for questions, comments, and concerns they may have regarding the association. For contact, send your email to: rva.sibutrecht@gmail.com

Cooking Committee (CoCo)

New this year is the Cooking Committee, do you enjoy cooking, sharing meals and planning meals, then this is the committee for you. The CoCo is called to help during bigger activities such as the Symposium and September Camp to make sure all members have a delicious and healthy meal. Per activity you can decide whether you want to help out, or skip for that event. As a result, this is a committee that is perfect for those with a busy schedule or commitment problems.

European Solidarity Corps (ESC)

This year we plan on reapplying for funding from the European Union, this time themed around Student Mental Wellbeing. Are you interested in this topic and do you have ideas on how we can improve the Mental Health of our members, and students in general, through activities or initiatives, your input is super welcome at the ESC.

External Affairs Committee (EC)

This committee supports the Commissioner of External Affairs in organizing the lecture program. The committee members also regularly organize lectures themselves, helping to create an engaging and dynamic program for our association!

FIT/LIT Weekend Trip Committees

FIT: This committee organizes the annual Fall Weekend Trip, held in October or November. Open to all members, including those who join SIB from September onward, the trip provides a perfect opportunity to connect with others while exploring a dynamic city in the Benelux region.
LIT: Each spring, this committee arranges an exciting weekend getaway for our members. They pick the destination, transport and some fun activities. Think of museums, a tour of the city, a crazy 88, pub crawls and lovely dinners!

Internal Affairs Committee (IC)

This committee supports the Commissioner of Internal Affairs in making the association as fun and welcoming as possible for all members. They do this, among other things, by working on member integration and organizing various activities throughout the year.

IT committee (ICTcie)

The ICT committee makes the SIB website and webapp, and offer other committees and the board a helping hand with other technical matters. If you can code already, like designing, you have experience with WordPress, or if you are eager to learn IT stuff, there is always something for you!

MEME Committee

This committee organizes a larger trip every year in April to a destination such as Slovenia, Spain, or Estonia. The challenge is to organize an affordable trip with the perfect combination of culture and relaxation.

Party Committee (Feescie/Partee)

The Party committee (ParTee) is the life of the party at SIB, making sure the good times keep rolling all year round! From big, unforgettable events like the End-of-Year Party and the Dies Natalis celebration to cozy get-togethers like casual drinks and our legendary Friday Afternoon Socials (VriMiBo’s). Whether it’s picking the perfect venue or nailing the decorations, the ParTee takes care of every detail. Got questions or party ideas? Shoot them an email at partee.sibutrecht@gmail.com

Photo Committee (Paparacie)

Also new this year is the paparacie. Do you like photography? Then the Paparacie may be the committee for you. Whether you are already a professional or one starting at zero, we welcome everyone who is interested. You will be responsible for making the best photos during activities and editing them afterwards for all members to enjoy.

Promotion Committee (PC)

This committee supports the Commissioner of Promotion in promoting the association as effectively as possible. They do this, for example, during the lectures, but also through lectures, social media, and during the UITweek.

September Camp Committee (CampCie)

The September Camp takes place every third weekend of September: an introduction weekend for new members. It is a weekend in which you, as a new member, can get to know each other and other SIB members well.

SIB-Link

The SIB-Link is an independent committee that writes and compiles the association magazine four times a year. The committee members do the editorial work, design, and write some of the documents themselves, but other SIB members can also contribute to the SIB-Link by submitting quotes or by writing articles.

Simulation Committee (SimulaTee)

Every year the SimulaTee presents a crisis simulation of a historical event that is picked up at a certain point in history. From there you decide, in the role of a cabinet member of an involved country, how to proceed. It is a combination of Model United Nations, Risk and a whole lot of storybuilding.

Symposium Committee (Sympo)

The Symposium Committee organizes the annual symposium. This is a day full of lectures, workshops, and discussions on international or socially relevant topics. For example, we have received Sylvana Simons and Jasper Polane. Every year many people from outside SIB come to the symposium to watch and listen.

UIT Committee (UITcie)

Every year the UIT-committee puts down a nice program for all UIT runners at the Utrecht Introduction Time. The aim of the UITcie is of course to promote SIB as best as possible and to make a lot of new students enthusiastic about SIB-Utrecht.
