Film Talk: RBG

Tuesday March 2nd 2021 | 19:30 – 21:30| Zoom and TeleParty|

The emancipation of women in the United States would not be the same without Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Starting out as one of the nine women in a class of over 500 in Harvard Law School. Her decades-long push for gender equality saw her teach university courses on sex discrimination and ending with her as a justice on the Supreme Court . All Ginsburg has done for gender equality differs greatly from other types of activism as it has been achieved through application of her legal knowledge. On March 2nd we will look at the documentary RBG detailing Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s life and achievements.Dr. Valenta president of the American Studies Association and expert on Democracy and Citizenship will talk to us about activism and politics and the different ways they intersect. We will look at the differences beyond the borders, between the United States and the Netherlands.

This evening will take place via TeleParty and Zoom. Please stay tuned as a sign up link will follow shortly!
