Hack ‘n Leak: the world of cybercrime and cyberwar
Tue 04 Nov | 20:00-21:30 | De Kargadoor
Major hacks now make headlines regularly, targeting schools, hospitals and power grids. Millions of people have their personal data leaked. Cyberattacks are not just a lucrative business model for organised crime; they are also part of the toolkit of militaries and intelligence services.
In this duo-lecture, Tom Tervoort and Martijn Knapen will talk about how hacking works, and how it is related to medical laboratories, war and espionage. They will show what a typical cyberattack looks like — from the perspective of both the hacker and the victim — and give insight into the ecosystem of criminals and state actors behind it.
