Intro Talk: Why is there no peace in the Democratic Republic of Congo?
Tuesday 23rd of September | 20:00 | Instituto Cervantes (Domplein 3)
In his lecture, dr. François Lenfant will take the audience to the Democratic Republic of Congo and explore the question: why is there no peace in Congo, despite (or because of) the presence of so many UN agencies, NGOs and other civil society organizations? Are NGOs part of the problem, or part of the solution?
Dr. François Lenfant is lecturer at UU and project associate/principal consultant for International Alert. His areas of expertise are the ‘resource curse’, conflict sensitivity, sustainable development, and the economic dimensions of peace processes.
